BRISBANE, 3rd December – After game one of the JABA series went to the Japanese Industrial All Stars 5-4, the Bandits took to the field on Wednesday night to try and even the series. Brisbane got on the board first when CJ Beatty doubled in Matt Roxburgh from second base. The Bandits took the lead 1-0. The Bandits and All Stars went back and forth throughout the game, putting a total of twelve runs on the board. In the end, the All Stars took game two 7-5 over the Bandits.
In the bottom of the second inning, left fielder Matt Roxburgh led off the inning with a double to right centre field. With Roxburgh on second base, first baseman CJ Beatty came to the plate and followed up his teammate with a double of his own, bringing in the first run of the game. The Bandits took the lead 1-0.
In the top of the fourth, the All Stars’ Kubota hit a solo home run to centre field off of pitcher Ryan Searle. The All Stars evened the game at 1-1.
After the All Stars took the lead from the Bandits in the sixth, Brisbane put three more runs of their own on the board. Beatty homered to centre field making the score 2-2. Logan Wade later came into score on a Granden Goetzman double. Goetzman then came into score on a Andrew Campbell double, giving the Bandits the 4-2 lead.
In the seventh inning, the All Stars evened up the score at four. In the top of the ninth inning, with the score still tied at 4-4, the All Stars pushed three runs across the plate off of reliever Masaki Takashio. The All Stars recaptured the lead 7-4.
The Bandits were able to get another run across the plate in the ninth, but the All Stars took the final game in Brisbane 7-5. The All Stars leave Brisbane with two victories over the Bandits and head south to Sydney to continue the JABA Series against the Sydney Blue Sox. Tickets are still available for both games on fifth and seventh of December.
